Last month, we travelled to Berlin to present our strategic network design technology at Transform Fest - Europe’s leading supply chain transformation summit.

Established in 2022 by Maria Villablanca and Andrew Brown - and brought to life by Future Insights Network - TFest gathers the most innovative figures in supply chain to join forces and accelerate industry-wide transformation.

Having recently partnered with Maria and Future Insights Network, joining her Transform Talks podcast to discuss the common misconceptions of supply chain resilience, we received the invite to showcase our network design technology at this year’s summit.

Our Managing Director, Harry McCarney, also joined a panel of digital leaders from Siemens and Datwyler Group to discuss the role of digital models in optimising supply chain transformation.

Read on to find out more about why our technology stirred so much interest and excitement at TFest24.

A live demo of the industry’s most innovative network design technology

On the first day of the summit, we took to the stage to demo our technology for strategic network design. Our session attracted numerous supply chain leaders from a range of industries, including pharmaceutical, food & beverage, coatings, electronics, components, logistics, finance and more.

Our showcase received excellent response from the audience. The unique capabilities of our network design technology resonated with the complex challenges facing leaders driving strategic transformation.

Supply chain networks form from decades of assumption-based ad-hoc decision making. Consequently, these network structures, built from assumptions, act as obstacles for efficiency, resilience and sustainability.

This is because decision makers don’t have the tools to address the complexities of their network. Traditional tools leave leaders to assume what they are trying to find out. These linear, one-size-fits-all approaches do not allow leaders to fully explore the art of the possible.

In contrast, our network design technology uses genetic search to reveal optimal network structures by exploring millions of alternate scenarios. By testing transformations in digital environments, and in simulating more than just a handful of possible outcomes, we reveal hidden opportunities for optimisation.

We then present the insights from our digital models as intuitive visualisations. Our clients, including CHEP, Schneider Electric and AkzoNobel, can use these to enhance decision making and to build business cases and win buy-in for innovation. As a result, our clients confidently drive de-risked, optimised transformation.

Optimising and de-risking supply chain transformation initiatives

Across the two days, we engaged in many fascinating conversations about challenges and opportunities surrounding supply chain transformation.

We spoke with leaders about various initiatives: identifying optimal recyclable packaging solutions for circular economy, restructuring logistics networks for multimodality and reduced emissions, strategies to reduce cost to serve and lead times, leveraging disruption data to manage uncertainty, and many more strategic use cases.

Our models reveal the optimal strategy for rolling out an initiative to ensure minimised disruption and maximised ROI.

We’re looking forward to continuing these conversations following the summit, and enjoyed the opportunity to share our capabilities with some of the thought leaders within the industry.

Joining forces with Siemens and Datwyler Group to discuss the power of digital models for supply chain transformation

On the second day of the summit, Harry joined digital leaders from Siemens and Datwyler Group to discuss the power of using digital models to drive supply chain optimisation.

The discussion highlighted key strategies to overcome barriers to adoption and implementation for new technologies and systems. We shared how the digital models we build and deliver for CHEP have impactfully optimised their complex global logistics network.

The insights shared by Harry and his fellow panelists prompted the audience to consider how digital modelling and network science can accelerate transformation within their own networks.
